Our Sunday Club meets on the first Sunday of each month during our Communion service.
Our youngsters are currently looking at Jesus’ friends, looking at the story of Bartimaeus in their September meeting.
Bartimaeus was a blind beggar, healed by Jesus as he left Jericho. The children thought carefully about how life must be when you are blind and the difficulties you might face. We experienced some of these difficulties as we attempted to find the treasure on the map, whilst blindfolded.
We also played a series of games based around the importance of being able trust others, particularly when we face difficult times. The group was able to work well together, leading their blindfolded friends through the obstacle course. We then worked together to walk blindfolded into the church service, where we showed the rest of the congregation what we had been working on.
Our next meeting is this Sunday, 2nd October, from 10am, during our Holy Communion Service. All primary school aged children are welcome to join, providing they bring an adult with them!
