Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement, which invites Christians around the world to pray between Ascension and Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus Christ. What started out as an invitation from the Archbishops’ of Canterbury and York in 2016 to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer. You can read more about it, and pledge to take part, here.
At St George’s we’ll be open from 10am to 6pm each day from 25 May to 4 June, offering everyone an opportunity to engage with God in peace and quiet as they make their way around the eight prayer stations, each reflecting a phrase from the Lord’s Prayer. Please come and bring your friends and neighbours. In addition Cumbrian churches are holding a week of prayer from 4 to 11 June, so we’ll be doing it for 2.5 weeks, rather than 1.5 weeks! You can read all about the God for All initiative and the Moving Mountains initiative, which is the focus of Cumbria’s week of prayer, here.
