At St George’s we are determined to keep our church family as close as we can during this difficult and isolating time.
For members of our church (on the parish roll) who live alone, the plan is to ring at least once a week, possibly twice, to say ‘Hello’ and see how you’re doing and whether there’s any pastoral help that we can offer you.
For any members of our church who would like it, and are prepared to let Jean have their email address, we will be emailing out every week the Sunday readings from the lectionary (the ones we would have been using together in church) as well as a short homily (or thought for the day related to the readings).
If you would like either of these types of contact, but haven’t heard from Jean or Maureen yet, please do get in touch by emailing Jean.
We will also be posting worship resources on our Worship page, and any appropriate prayer resources on our Prayer page on this website – and we will try to let you know on Facebook when we do. If you have things to recommend, please let us know. The monthly church magazine will also be coming out soon, and that will be published on the website as usual (but not in paper form this month).
Phew! If you have any other ideas about how we can support each other while we cannot come together in church, please just let us know and we’ll try and follow them up.
