Our Brownies received a very special invitation to join Willy Wonka (Brown Owl) and her crew as they spent two nights away at their chocolate factory, specially relocated to Silverdale for Pack Holiday.
Whilst away, the Brownies enjoyed a packed programme of activities, from toasting giant marshmallows on the first night, creating new things such as exploding fizzy pop and Violet Beauregarde’s bubble gum in Willy Wonka’s inventing room or making their own delicious sweet trees in the craft room!
The girls also hit the pool to practice how to safe someone in difficulty and earned their Water Safety Badge in the process. The girls also completed their Craft, Cook, Hostess and Home Skills badge whilst away so will be ready to help out at home from now on!
On Saturday night, the girls met Willy Wonka herself and put on an excellent Entertainment show to earn their Entertainment badge. There were many fabulous acts showing off different skills in dancing, skipping, gymnastics and joke telling and, after such a fabulous show, the Brownies had certainly earned the right to help themselves to some goodies from the chocolate river.
The girls (and leaders!) had a fabulous time away and would like to thank Brown Owl for all the hard work she put in to creating this world of ‘pure imagination’.
