April Parish News published

This issue of our Parish News, published just before Mothering Sunday which marks the midpoint of Lent, includes information about all the Easter activities at church from Palm Sunday, through the Passover meal on Maundy Thursday to the sunrise service at the Castle and Holy Communion at church on Easter morning. In it, our Editor, Pam, reports on her experience of this month’s ecumenical pilgrimage from Cumbria to the Holy Land – visiting, among other things, St George’s Cathedral in Jerusalem – and also explains the fascinating symbolism involved in the name of the ‘Passion’ flower pictured above – representing all aspects of the crucifixion story in its different component parts. And you can enjoy the usual puzzles, recipes, regular columns and reports from all our wonderful church groups as well, of course!
