Kendal St George with Grayrigg Mothers’ Union
Mothers’ Union is an International Organisation of 4 million Christians in over 80 countries who give time, money, experience and prayer to support marriage and family life.
In the UK and Ireland membership is open to both men and women, regardless of age or relationship status. A person should have been baptised in the name of the Trinity and agree with our aims and objectives.
Apart from meeting together in the parish MU members are involved in projects within the wider community such as, making clothes for premature babies, providing 'comfort' bags for people who have been suddenly admitted to hospital or raising funds for ‘Away from it all Holidays’, so that families who may be under stress can have a holiday or a day trip out together. We also contribute funds each year to the work of Mothers Union worldwide.
St George with Grayrigg Mothers’ Union meet in St George’s Church on the last Wednesday of the month from 2.00 to 3.30pm. We begin with prayers followed by a short talk or activity. So far this year we have looked at the celebration of faith in music and song, heard how a volunteer doctor helped train nurses in a remote region of Nepal and we are now preparing for our Annual Coffee morning.
Our meetings end with time for a cup of tea and a chat.
Visitors are always welcome at our meetings.
